The School of Celtic Studies is, along with those of Theoretical Physics and of Cosmic Physics a constituent school of The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, founded under the Institute for Advanced Studies Act, 1940, to provide facilities for the furtherance of advanced study and the conduct and publication of research.

Details of research projects, the publications of the school as well as of seminars and lectures are provided on this website. Special attention may be drawn to the Irish Script on Screen (ISOS) project and the online publications.

Attendance at the weekly seminars and at the series of lectures by Professor David Dumville is open to all. There will be no fee and no requirement to register.

The School also hosts an annual two-day conference (Tionól) in November, and a Summer School every three years. This year’s Tionól will take place on the 15th and 16th of November, and the next Summer School will take place in 2014. Further details will be announced in due course.
